NARRAGANSETT — Everybody loves a win for the home team, but baseball just isn’t as exciting when the game is a slaughter. That was exactly the case when Narragansett’s boys hosted visitor Rogers at Sprague Park on Monday afternoon. The Mariners took an early seven run lead in only the first inning, which lasted nearly a half hour, and showed the Vikings no mercy until Rhode Island Interscholastic League rules dictated they must. Narragansett and Rogers called it quits in the fifth inning when the score hit and all too easy 15-3 final.
