SOUTH KINGSTOWN - Rep. Teresa Tanzi (D - Dist. 34, South Kingstown, Narragansett) has signed on as a primary sponsor to House Bill 7767, which seeks to repeal the voter identification law that Rhode Island passed in 2011.
The bill, introduced by Rep. Larry Valencia (D - Dist. 39, Richmond, Exeter, Hopkinton), simply removes the text “any person claiming to be a registered voter who desires to vote at a primary election, special election or general election shall provide proof of identity (at the polls)” from election laws.
