EAST GREENWICH — William Sequino announced during the Town Council’s June 17 meeting at Swift Community Center that the job posting for town manager in East Greenwich has been posted to the Town’s official website.
Sequino, who will be stepping down as Town Manager after 25 years following the first full week of July to begin his new position of Executive Director of the Rhode Island Clean Water Finance Agency, said the listing was posted earlier in the day on June 17 and it will remain up for 30 days – or until mid-July .
The deadline for submission of resumes for applicants is July 19 and they are to be sent to Town Solicitor Peter Clarkin, of McKenney, Quigley, Izzo and Clarkin, 95 Chestnut St., Providence, R.I. 02903.
According to the listing on the Town’s website, requirements for the prospective town manager include having an undergraduate degree in public administration, business administration or a closely-related field combined with at least seven years of “increasingly responsible experience in municipal management.” The listing also stresses the importance of the candidate having experience in labor relations.
The job post also states it’s preferable for the candidate to have a Master’s degree in public or business administration and ICMA Credentialed Manager status. A preference, the post says, will also be given to experienced town managers, assistant town managers and department heads from jurisdictions of comparable size and complexity.
