Town approves license for new 007 Bar owners

September 26, 2013

NORTH KINGSTOWN—On Monday evening, the town council voted to approve a renewal of the liquor license at 007 Bar and Grille on Post Road, a business which has struggled in recent years to remain successful and is currently in receivership. Representatives for current receivership owner Tiogue Properties, LLC, as well as the prospective operator, Providence Coal Fired Pizza on Westminster St, were on hand to explain the complex transfer of the former 007 Bar and Grille’s liquor license.

“[007 Bar and Grille] has been in abeyance since last November because the receiver didn’t have enough money to pay taxes,” said Town Solicitor James Reilly.

Stephen Miller, speaking on behalf of Inman and Stewart Monday evening, stated that his clients have already paid $20,000 in back taxes owed by 007 Bar and Grille, as well as taxes to the Town of North Kingstown. A second renewal was also approved on Monday evening in order to transfer the liquor license for Tiogue Ave. Properties, LLC, to Providence Coal Fired Pizza, operated by a four-man partnership; Michael Santos as general manager and David Bertolini as the head chef, as well as Edward Restivo and Chris Mossey.
