The Towers to host Renaissance church music group

The Schola Cantorum ensemble will be performing Sunday, March 16, at The Towers, 35 Ocean Road, Narragansett. Tickets are $20; students and children are free. The concert begins at 4 p.m. and will be followed by a potluck reception. Attendees wishing to stay for the reception are asked to bring a dish to share. NARRAGANSETT – Schola Cantorum of Boston, a 16-voice ensemble, is coming to The Towers this Sunday.

Schola Cantorum is a vocal group dedicated to the performance of Renaissance church music. Founded by Frederick Jodry, the ensemble has performed throughout New England over the last 25 years.

Jodry, the director of choral activities at Brown University, began the group while attending the New England Conservatory, where he earned a master’s degree in the performance of early music in 1987.
