Tanzi bill would eliminate cesspools

STATE HOUSE - Rep. Teresa Tanzi (D-District 34, South Kingstown, Narragansett) introduced legislation last week to eliminate cesspools in Rhode Island.

Cesspools are buried chambers that receive sewage from a building for disposal into the ground and often release untreated human waste into the environment usually through direct contact with groundwater.
