SWAT costs stall hearing

WEST WARWICK — With the budget workshops completed,the public got the chance to weigh in on West Warwick's budget numbers in an open session Monday held at the Town Hall council chambers.

According to the town’s budget report given out at the meeting, the town’s budget makes up 68 percent of the Annual Required Contribution (ARC) while the school budget is 16 percent, school concessions are nine percent, wastewater budget makes up six percent and the library with the least at one percent. These numbers are after the pension concessions.

West Warwick Council Vice President Ed Giroux explained in the opening of the meeting that no line items are vetoed. They take each department as a whole.

West Warwick Town Manager Fred Presley and members of the council have the annual budget at $86,326,099 for fiscal year 2015. The five-year plan budget is $86,341,584.
