Students arrested for possession of marijuana candy

Two high school students and one middle school student, all 14 years old, were arrested after another student reportedly became ill after consuming marijuana candy (above).

WOOD RIVER JUNCTION – Three 14-year-old Chariho students were recently arrested after allegedly possessing and distributing “marijuana candy” on school grounds, according to Richmond Police Chief Elwood Johnson and Superintendent of Chariho Schools Barry Ricci.

Police said on March 27, a 14-year-old Chariho Middle School student was arrested and charged with one count of distributing a controlled substance in or near a school and one count of possession of a controlled substance, following an investigation into an incident where a teenaged middle school student required medical attention.
