WESTERLY - Attorney General Peter Kilmartin has filed a lawsuit against six defendants with houses abutting Misquamicut Beach in an attempt to solidify beach access laws and erase â€śfaultyâ€ť 1969 and 1970 survey plans that the state believes zoned the area incorrectly.
â€śThis is the case of two faulty survey plans,â€ť said the stateâ€™s summary of facts. â€śThese drawings, made in 1969 and 1970, were respectively used by two individual beach-front owners to usurp the arrangements crafted six decades beforehand in the original subdivision. However, an established plat is not so easily uprooted.â€ť
