St. Anthony's Feast and procession will take place this weekend

Preparations for St. Anthony’s Feast, which starts today.

WEST WARWICK—St. Anthony’s Feast and procession are this weekend.

Today, Saturday, June 11, the festivities begin with a solemn mass in English at 5 p.m. and at 6 p.m. the Portuguese and American food booths will open and games for children and more will begin.

At 7 p.m., the oldies band King’s Row will play. Festivities will go until 11 p.m. tonight.

On Sunday, June 12, there will be a solemn mass in Portuguese at 9 a.m. followed by a solemn mass, in honor of St. Anthony, in English at 11 a.m.

At 12 p.m. on Sunday, the food booths will open again.

At 3:30 p.m., the solemn procession to honor St. Anthony will begin. The procession will go through the streets in the Riverpoint area and then circle back to the church.

After the procession, around 4:30 p.m., Portuguese folklore dancers will perform.

From 7 p.m. to 10 p.m. the band Image will perform Portuguese-American music.

Food and games will be available all evening during the entertainment.

St. Anthony’s Church is located at the corner of Maple Avenue and Sunset Avenue in West Warwick.
