Special Education teacher to remain at Meadowbrook

June 19, 2014

EAST GREENWICH — An issue regarding the move of two special education paraprofessionals out of Meadowbrook Farms Elementary School has been resolved by the East Greenwich School District.
Last Thursday, the School District announced to parents throughout town that Lore Gray, a special ed teacher for Meadowbrook who was lauded by several parents at a recent School Committee meeting for her work with children with special needs – particularly those who have an autism spectrum disorder – will not be switched to Cole Middle School next year.
In a message to parents, which was reposted on the “East Greenwich Parents for Excellence” group page on Facebook, Superintendent Victor Mercurio stated that the School District, “after a further review and analysis of the date and work of the faculty and support staff” at Meadowbrook, will keep the existing resource staff and paraprofessionals in place for next school year.
