SK Town Council passes budget

April 30, 2014

SOUTH KINGSTOWN - The unanimous adoption of the nearly $74.9 million 2014-15 fiscal year budget by the town council brought an end to several months of planning, coordinating, debating, compromising and the ruffling of a few feathers.

The budget brings a 4-cent tax rate hike to the town that the staff is still working on bringing down to 3 cents.

Despite a packed council chambers, the public did not comment on or petition any section of the budget, which the town council as a whole has referred to as very well done.
