RICHMOND â€“ Like the old adage used by the federal government, the â€śtown of Richmond wants you.â€ť
The only difference, of course, is that you won't be risking your life to defend our country should you decide to answer the town's call. Rather, Town Administrator Steven A. Sette and the Town Council have set out a call to residents asking them to apply for open positions on boards and commissions.
Sette has posted a flyer that he said â€świll be visible around town in an effort to attract more volunteers to the town boards and commissions.â€ť
On the document, it asks if residents have an interest in helping the town; have time that they can contribute to a town board or commission; are interested in developing recreational opportunities in Richmond or protecting the interests of senior citizens or helping to guide the town's planning, zoning or financial decisions.
If any of those apply to you, the town â€śwants youâ€ť to apply for a position in town. The document states that it's an easy process that involves either stopping by Town Hall on Richmond Town House Road or going to the town's site at www.RichmondRI.com.View more articles in:
