SOUTH KINGSTOWN â€“ A public hearing before the Public Utilities Commission [PUC] brought an estimated 25 residents to the town hall last Wednesday in protest of approximately $10 in proposed monthly increases â€“ a 42.6 percent rate increase - from United Water, which was allowed a 18.31 percent increase in 2012.
The next hearing on the matter will be held at the Narragansett Town Hall tonight at 6 p.m.
