WAKEFIELD – Through its production of Tom Griffin's The Boys Next Door, the Prout School's Performing Arts Department hopes to raise awareness about the needs and understanding of people living with mental disabilities. The show will take place Nov. 19 and 20 at 7:30 at the school and is done in collaboration with Prout's Campus Ministry Department.
The Boys Next Door takes place in a group home in a New England town. Four mentally challenged young men live in the home under the supervision of a devoted yet increasingly "burned out" social worker. Mingled with situations from the daily lives of the four men, the cast portrays how the four men deal with the little things that others take for granted.
