WEST WARWICK â€” Residents in the area believe they have a big decision to make in November as far as who will be Rhode Islandâ€™s next governor.
Candidates seeking nomination in the Democratic primary include Rhode Island General Treasurer Gina Raimondo, Providence Mayor Angel Taveras, Todd Giroux and Clay Pell; meanwhile, Republican primary candidates include Cranston Mayor Allan Fung and Ken Block.
Mike Stralford, of West Warwick, said itâ€™s too soon to tell who should be elected but given his situation, being a single dad, trying to provide and save a little when he can, his concern is higher taxes.
â€śI donâ€™t want whoever is elected to leave us in the dust,â€ť he said. â€śI didnâ€™t see much changing under Chafeeâ€™s watch, so the next person has to have a focus on bringing in companies with good jobs that will have stability.â€ť
