After working at both the Dunes Club and Coast Guard House, Toni Owens brings her restaurant expertise to Trio Restaurant in Narragansett.

NARRAGANSETT – With 31 years of experience in the Rhode Island restaurant industry, Toni Owens is bringing her skills to the Trio Restaurant on Kingstown Road as the new restaurant manager.
Owens comes to the Narragansett restaurant after managing the Dunes Club, a 125-seat restaurant for four years and the Coast Guard House for 16 years.

Owens had her first job in the restaurant industry, working as a teenager at Old Mountain Lanes. She later worked at the Coast Guard House as a bartender, but then was promoted to bar manager and then general manager.

“I learned what it takes to run a restaurant,” Owens said.
The people she meets working in the restaurant industry is what keeps Owens in the profession.

“You get to meet so many people. It’s different all the time and at the same time its a challenge,” Owens said.
Looking for that challenge is what brought Owens to the Trio Restaurant.

“I was looking for something a little more challenging, more difficult,” Owens said.

Working at Trio, Owens hopes to make the restaurant a place everyone likes to come to.

“I want to make this place, people want to come to even if its just for a drink and an appetizer or a special occasion. I want it to be there for the whole community,” Owens said. “We want to feel a part of the community and also make the community feel apart of us.”

Owens wants Trio to be the kind of place everyone can feel comfortable, whether they’re coming alone or with a group of people.

“They can just grab a bite to eat or stop by and have a pizza,” Owens said.
