OLM community stunned over pastor's passing

EAST GREENWICH — Every parishioner, priest, nun or people with devout faith walk through the doors of their respective church always wanting to understand meaning and purpose of life, as well as having a voice to guide them down the right path.

Unfortunately, one local church community has been trying to find meaning regarding a loss of not just a leader, but a mentor and a friend.

Reactions of shock and sadness spread quickly throughout the small, tight-knit Our Lady of Mercy church community this past week once it received word that Monsignor John W. Lolio, 68, passed away suddenly over the weekend.
