North Kingstown man convicted of unemployment fraud

PROVIDENCE—After an investigation conducted through the Rhode Island State Police, Attorney General Peter F. Kilmartin announced last week that a North Kingstown man has pleaded no contest to unemployment insurance fraud, and faces five years of probation. Patrick T. Carroll, 46, with a last known address of 106 Petee Ave., North Kingstown, pleaded guilty to obtaining money under false pretenses after he collected approximately $12,000 in unemployment benefits from the state.
