NK School Committee debates budget adjustment request

NORTH KINGSTOWN—On Tuesday evening, the North Kingstown School Committee discussed the town council’s most recent request to cut its budget request by $800,000, which would lower the district’s general fund request to $59.1 million. The committee engaged in a lengthy debate about the reduction, and members said that they wanted to make sure the council fully recognized the schools’ future needs, namely with capital improvements.
