NARRAGANSETT- After two years of planning, Narragansett Bikes celebrated the grand opening of their new location at 922 Boston Neck Road on Thursday.
Owners Matt and Stacy Bodziony and Chris Dale cut the ribbon with the help of Narragansett Town Council member Matt Mannix and Deborah Kelso, executive director of the Narragansett Chamber of Commerce, while residents of Narragansett joined in support.
The owners and NBX staff gave residents a tour of the new store after the ribbon cutting ceremony and stated that they hope to continue to make improvements so that it can be utilized by bikers of all ages and abilities.
“We are so excited about being done and being in our new home. I am excited to see all that this new location has to offer and to really be a part of this community,” said Matt Bodziony.
The philosophy of the NBX staff is that cycling should be fun for people of all ages and abilities and NBX Bikes has also received the title of Best Bicycle Store in the Rhode Island Monthly Magazine’s editor choice.
“Cycling is truly an activity that can be enjoyed for a lifetime,” said Bodziony.
According to Bodziony, NBX wanted to move to the new location to become more involved with the community. The process of moving required much consideration from the Narragansett Town Council. Bodziony said that he is thankful for all of the residents that supported them through the journey and is looking forward to continue to become involved.
“Last year we broke ground in the end of July, so the process was almost two years of overcoming and we went through a lot with telling the town council what we aspired to be and hoped to do in this new location, and we had such great support from residents,” said Bodziony. “We are really happy to be able to show our hard work .This has really become a destination for us and as we go forward we hope to offer more things to not only the cycling world, but our neighbors in the community.”
