WEST WARWICK— The decision to hire a special prosecutor to look into the 38 Studios debacle was overwhelmingly defeated by the House Finance Committee last Thursday, and District 26 (Coventry, West Warwick, Warwick) Representative Patricia Morgan is extremely disappointed.
Only 11 of the 75 members, according to Morgan, voted in favor to appoint a special prosecutor to hold someone accountable for the estimated $90 million in bonds that are now on the taxpayer’s shoulders. An amendment to the states budget that Representative proposed is to allocate $1.5 million.
