McDonald sentenced to 20 years at ACI

Former Narragansett Town Councilor and Rhode Island State Senator Patrick Timothy McDonald, center, was sentenced to 20 years in the ACI on Wednesday with four-and-a-half to serve.

NARRAGANSETT - Former Narragansett Town Councilor and Rhode Island State Senator Patrick Timothy McDonald was sentenced Wednesday to 20 years in the ACI with four-and-a-half to serve after he was found guilty in January on three charges of embezzlement and one charge of conspiracy.

McDonald, 49, with a last known address of 56 Meadow Rue Trail, Saunderstown, stole more than $160,000 from his clients during real estate closings, money which he then spent on alcohol, hotel rooms for himself and his mistress, family vacations and living expenses.
