Mariners top Chargers 186-197, fall to Coventry

May 8, 2014

The Narragansett golf team earned a split on Tuesday, defeating Chariho while falling to Coventry, at Point Judith Country Club.

NARRAGANSETT - Narragansett’s golf team had more than one encounter with Chariho this week, but the results were very different. The teams faced off on both Monday and Tuesday and though Narragansett came out on top both times, one call was far closer than the other.

It was a humbling experience for the Mariners; Coventry played very well under the same conditions, namely top Oaker, Jake Anderson who was two sub par after the first two holes with two birdies in a row. Anderson’s approach to the first pin brought him within three feet of the flag for a putt that he looked like he could have made in his sleep. Anderson finished with a match high score of 39.
