There is a fair amount in the $8.7-billion 2015 fiscal state budget that was very pleasing to a pair of local legislators, items they feel could be a starting point in getting Rhode Island back on track, economically.
However, there was one major ticket item - which has been a point of controversy over the last few years and will be for the foreseeable future - in the budget that swayed the votes by District 30 Representative Anthony Giarrusso and District 35 Senator Dawson Hodgson into the negative.
Both Giarrusso and Hodgson clarified earlier this week as to why they submitted â€˜nayâ€™ votes for the state budget within their respective chambers at the State House and both came to the same conclusion.
