SOUTH KINGSTOWN â€“ The town managerâ€™s proposed budget includes $147,400 of expenditures to human services agencies who operate in and serve South Kingstown. At a budget work session on Wednesday, several agencies testified to the town council to maintain or increase the level of spending.
â€śWeâ€™re right now providing 52.6 percent of all the municipal contributions that go to various agencies,â€ť said Town Manager Stephen Alfred. â€śAt the same time, the population served from South Kingstown residents is about 23.5 percent. We are providing our fair share.â€ť
