EAST GREENWICH â There will be one less name on the November ballot, particularly involving the East Greenwich School Committee.
Kristin Lehoullier, who was planning on running for one of the four available seats on the School Committee this election year, said Monday that she withdrew herself from consideration for a spot on the governing body for the East Greenwich School District, citing work-related reasons would have hindered her ability to properly participate on the School Committee if elected.
In a phone interview, Lehoullier said she has an independent consulting business that works with education, workforce development and youth development organizations and her professional commitments have increased, which resulted in her having to make some difficult decisions this summer.
âIâve kind of assessed the situation and concluded that I donât think I would have the capacity to do the job in the way that I would want to be able to do it if I were elected,â Lehoullier said. âIt was a really hard decision to make. It would have been great to not only run now, but to be running with a bunch of other great individuals. Itâs unfortunate that I wonât be able to do that.â
