HOPKINTON — Sen. Catherine Cool Rumsey and Reps. Larry Valencia and Brian Patrick Kennedy updated the town council on Monday night concerning General Assembly bills to change the Chariho Act.

Representing Richmond, Valencia, D-District 39, said that he had submitted two bills in the House: H-7568, which would change the Chariho Act’s elementary school matriculation rules that require students to attend in their town of residence; and, H-7553, which would reduce the school committee membership from 11 to nine. Valencia said he had not requested hearings for the bills yet.
