The jury is still out on regulation of electronic cigarettes

The introduction of legislation in the state that would place an 80 percent excise tax and restrict shipping on and of electronic cigarettes has quickly placed the devices and nicotine-infused liquids in the public spotlight once more.

Standing away from the spotlight and behind the products that he produces and sells in Rhode Island is Darin Tripoli, owner and operator of Sunshine Vape in Warwick. Tripoli has frequented the state house since the hearings on the proposed tax began, a tax that he says would cripple his new business and force him into Massachusetts.
