Hope Valley Farmers Market to hold fundrasing benefit

March 20, 2014

Members of the Hope Valley Indoor Winter Farmers Market (HVIWFM) have partnered up with individuals in the local farm community to help rebuild the Travis Family Farm. On March 10, the barn at Travis Family Farm burned to the ground, killing more than 50 animals inside. The Travis family was a vendor at the market with Rachyl’s Goats Milk soap and a variety of handcrafted products. To help the family financially and in spirit, a raffle has been planned.

Starting Saturday, March 22, raffle tickets will go on sale at the market for $1 each or six for $5. The raffle winners will be drawn on Saturday, April 5. Raffle items currently include a wild bird feeding gift basket donated by Allies in North Kingstown, a $20 gift certificate to the Grateful Heart in Wickford, soap and a candle created and donated by Silk Tree Farm of Charlestown, two $25 gift certificates to Our Kids Farm of Richmond/Exeter, a gift certificate to Shepherd’s Harvest, a jam gift basket created and donated by Carolyn’s Kitchen of Richmond, a Maddy’s Munchys dog treat gift basket created and donated by Usquepaugh Baking Co., LLC of Richmond, and a local baking mix gift basket created and donated by Usquepaugh Baking Co., LLC of Richmond.

The Hope Valley Indoor Winter Farmers Market is open Saturdays from 11:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. through April 19 at the Richmond Community Center, 1168 Main St., Wyoming. For more information about the market, visit www.facebook.com/Hope.Valley.Indoor.Winter.Farmers.Market.
