Hetherman named new CFD treasurer

September 13, 2013

Long-time resident has 25 years accounting experience

COVENTRY — A new treasurer was hired during Wednesday’s Coventry Fire District Board of Director’s meeting.
Judith Hetherman, a long-time Coventry resident, will be maintaining bill payment and keeping track of expeditures on a part-time basis.

“I’m looking forward to working with the board and bringing my 25 years of accounting experience along with the love I have for the community to help the fire district stay on track.”
Hetherman will replace former treasurer Tom LaColle who passed away last month after illness.
Hetherman is the owner of Judith Hetherman and Co., CPAs located on Arnold Road. Many of her clients are small business owners or run non-profits.
Her husband, former Coventry School committee member and current Coventry School Building committee member, have children who have gone through the town’s school district.
With her knowledge of the town, she believes this is the best way she can help her community.
She will be working with the fire chief and members of the board to get caught up on some of the fire district’s background as well as attending monthly meetings, reviewing reports and offering any suggestions she may have to help maintain the district.
The other two candidates being considered for the position were Conrad Burns and James Crosby.
Board of Directors President Gay Cote welcomes her on board.
“I think she’ll be an asset to this district and she’ll have a lot of work to do to get up to speed with help from the chief,” he said.
