Granite Theatre presents British Comedy ‘Run For Your Wife’

July 28, 2014

WESTERLY-Renaissance City Theatre Inc. will put on a production of the British comedy “Run For Your Wife” this summer at the Granite Theatre of Westerly.
The fun loving summer show features the life of John Smith, a man with two wives who finds himself in an unfavorable situation after an accident, and the plot unravels from there.  What happens next as he scrambles to keep his two wives from meeting and his two lives separate, is described as the makings of “a quintessential feel-good farce” by show Director Lee Rush Schwartz.
Schwartz, a directing veteran of 20 years, has been working with productions similar to “Run For Your Wife”, and other shows written by the playwright Ray Cooney for most of her directing career. She has directed shows including “Lend Me a Tenor”, “Mouse Trap”, “Nobody’s Perfect” and “The Real Inspector Round”. However, this play stands out with an extremely talented and diverse cast.
“The funny thing is people say if it’s British and it’s funny, most likely Lee is directing it,” said Schwartz. “This is my comfort zone and my delight zone because I just love British silly antics.”
