The EWG girls beat Chariho, 76-73 on Tuesday, while the boys had second and third place finishes in a number of events.

WEST KINGSTON — The Exeter/West Greenwich girls managed to sweep the meet at home on Tuesday afternoon, despite some unpleasant running conditions.

“It was pretty cold, so times were not incredibly fast and a lot of kids were disappointed with that aspect of it,” coach Thomas Mastroianni said during a phone interview on Wednesday morning. “But, we did win over both teams. It was very close, but we came out on top so that was good.”

The Knights beat Chariho, 76-73 and defeated East Greenwich in a 69-66 final.
