Elections too close to call in NK, Exeter

November 7, 2012

Election night has come and gone and there are still a number of unsettled races in North Kingstown and Exeter.
With an estimated 1,100 mail-in ballots left to be counted in NK, a total of six votes separated incumbent NK Town Council member Carol Hueston from Independent candidate Colin O'Sullivan for the fifth and final seat on the council.
In Exeter, meanwhile, Bob Johnson currently trails Republican Dan Patterson by four votes with 130 mail-in ballots remaining.
The state's Board of Elections has estimated that the ballots should be counted and tallied by later this afternoon. Stay tuned for further updates as they become available.
