EG spikers model of perfection

May 8, 2014

Members of the East Greenwich boys volleyball team huddle during their 3-0 win over St. Raphael on Monday.

EAST GREENWICH -- There's another undefeated team ruling the court at East Greenwich High School.

But this time, it isn't involving basketball.

The boys volleyball team (Division II-South) is sitting atop the division at 12-0 and doesn't plan to stop there.

"[Our success] is based on experience," said EG coach Theresa Garno. "I have a lot of kids with experience, four seniors who have all played varsity, my setter [junior Stanley Chan] is returning, my libero [senior Paul Anderson] is returning. I have two really solid middles, [senior captain John Condon and senior Sam McLimans], which is great because we are able to predicate our offense on our middle which is what we do."
