EG man killed in weekend crash

An East Greenwich man was killed Saturday morning in a single-car crash on Route 195 in Providence.

According Captain James Manni of the Rhode Island State Police, Ian Cameron, 25, was traveling westbound when he hit the right-side guardrail with his Toyota Prius at approximately 9:05 a.m. and then rolled over along the ramp leading into Route 95 southbound.
When the vehicle rolled over, Cameron – who was not wearing a seatbelt, according to Manni – was ejected from the vehicle out of the passenger-side window and was pronounced dead at the scene by Providence rescue at 9:14 a.m.
The cause of Saturday’s accident is still under investigation by State Police, Manni said, as there is currently no evidence to support speed or alcohol as contributing factors to the crash.
