EG boys tennis continues to rule the courts this spring

April 24, 2014

East Greenwich No. 1 singles player Shiv Patel was dominant in his 6-0, 6-0 victory over Lincoln’s Antonio Angela last Thursday in the Avengers’ win on the road over the Lions.

LINCOLN – The match between East Greenwich and Lincoln this past Thursday featured two tennis teams on completely different paths. The East Greenwich Avengers have cruised to a 4-1 record to begin their season, and find themselves on top of Division I-Meta A. The Lincoln Lions, however, were winless entering Thursday’s match, and were slowly sinking to the bottom of the same division.

When the two teams met, they both continued on their respective paths, as East Greenwich easily cruised to a 7-0 victory over Lincoln. The Avengers (5-1) dominated the Lions (0-6) all afternoon in both singles and doubles play. Not only did Lincoln not win a single set, but they were only victorious in two games, both of them coming in doubles play. Clearly, East Greenwich showed why they are the “team to beat” in the division.
