Crusaders uncharacteristic against Chariho

May 7, 2014

Senior rightfielder James Pardington takes off from the plate after a base hit against the Chariho Chargers in Saturday’s 10-3 loss at The Prout School.

WAKEFIELD — No amount of crowd enthusiasm could keep Prout from unraveling like a spool of thread on Saturday. The Crusaders baseball team was pinned by Chariho early on and they were not able to come back from a crucial first inning deficit.

“Everything went wrong for us,” Crusaders’ coach Mike LaBarbera said after the loss. “We didn’t do a thing right today. I can’t say we weren’t ready to play, I feel like every time a team takes to the field they’re ready, but we just didn’t do anything right.”
