CRMC to review recommendation to approve DWW application

The Ocean SAMP Subcommittee of the Coastal Resources Management Council heard testimony during three public hearings on Deepwater Wind’s proposed Block Island Wind Farm and Block Island Transmission System. The subcommittee will voted 5-0 April 3 to recommend the application be reviewed by the full council. The full council will review the application May 13.

PROVIDENCE – The Coastal Resources Management Council will conduct a full review next week of the Ocean SAMP Subcommittee’s recommendation to approve Deepwater Wind’s application to construct the Block Island Wind Farm and the Block Island Transmission System.

The council will meet Tuesday, May 13 at the Department of Administration in Providence to discuss Deepwater’s application to build five 6-megawatt turbines located off the coast of Block Island and a submarine transmission cable connecting Block Island to the mainland.
