Coventry PD OK'd for new vehicles, guns

COVENTRY— A lot is happening at the Coventry Police Department (CPD) including the purchase of a 2014 Ford Interceptor SUV, a purchase of a replacement patrol car and an the replacement of their current weapons totaling 63 new .40-caliber service guns, which were all approved at last night’s Coventry Town Council meeting.

Other annual contracts were approved unanimously such as the CyberComm service contract for radio and recording systems at the CPD, totaling at a cost of $8,112. The Police Chief, Bryan Volpe, spoke at the meeting about the company and the CPD’s long relationship with its reliable equipment.
