KINGSTON â Proudly clad in the schoolâs green and white colors, the Chariho Class of 2013 paraded into the Ryan Center for graduation ceremonies Friday night.
Following tradition, the high school band played âPomp and Circumstanceâ while parents and friends in the audience applauded enthusiastically. Acting as their studentsâ guides for the last time, the Chariho High School teachers and administrators symbolically lined the studentsâ path on each side as the soon-to-be graduates proceeded toward their seats facing the stage where they would receive their diplomas.
In opening remarks, Chariho High School Principal Laurie J. Weber said it was important to have new experiences and not fear failure and Chariho School Committee Chair Michelle L. Cole, who said she had graduated from Chariho 18 years prior, congratulated the students on their accomplishments.
âThe entire community stands proudly by your side tonight,â Cole said. âWe celebrate this moment by wishing you the very best and every success in the future.â
