Boston Red Sox win series at Fenway; first since 1918

October 31, 2013

WEST WARWICK — The sweet Boston Red Sox victory in Boston Wednesday night left most locals feeling tired Thursday but say it was well worth it.
Die-hard fan Jeff Parenteau sported his Sox hat and shirt throughout his day while going about his day as usual as a teacher at Deering Middle School.
“I had tickers for game seven but of course, there’s no need,” he said. “I was able to get some sleep but I did watch a lot of after-game reaction and all the commentary.”
He loves watching David Ortiz.
“He is out of his mind,” he said. “The Cardinal didn’t stand a chance with him and Lester.”
Gil Lavoie said Dustin Pedroia and Big Poppy were awesome although I have to admit, I had my doubts. They came from last to first. I wasn’t so sure they’d do it in six games.”
Lavoie said the issue now is that four players are up to be free agents.
“I hope they stay with the Sox,” he said.
