Board of Elections calls it a night; Mail-in ballot results won't be available until Thursday

November 7, 2012

We've got an update on the mail-in ballot situation.
According to multiple sources, the state's Board of Elections has called it quits today in its attempt to count an estimated 18,000 mail-in ballots statewide and will resume the task tomorrow.
The Standard-Times spoke to representatives from the board and they insist that final numbers in the local contested races will be released at the same time. You can view updates on the board's website at (http://www.ri.gov/election/results/2012/general_election/).
For now, stay tuned to our website at www.ricentral.com and our Facebook page at www.facebook.com/StandardTimes and we'll update the final figures for NK and Exeter when they become available. As of right now, it appears the numbers should be in sometime Thursday.
