Council votes to kill tax credit proposal

CHARLESTOWN - The Town Council voted to kill a homestead tax exemption proposal from the Democratic Town Committee (CDTC) when the proposal’s opposition came out in full force at the Dec. 12 town council meeting.

Charlestown resident Pachulski helps support cancer victims

CHARLESTOWN - Sandi Puchalski’s life changed forever during the Christmas season of 2007.

The Charlestown resident first felt a cancerous tumor inside her when her horse, Ms. Jazzie, pushed her up against a barn wall. She had found the life threatening mass in time, and was able to win a fight against the deadly disease.

Pawuxet Rangers bring living history to Hope Valley

HOPE VALLEY - Third and fourth graders from Hope Valley Elementary School were transported out of the classroom and all the way back to the revolutionary battlefield on Friday, Dec. 2, when members of the Pawtuxet Rangers, a local militia that protected the Rhode Island coastline during the American Revolutionary War, paid them a spirited visit.

Richmond Chief warns public of break-ins

Hopkinton has a new sheriff in town

HOPKINTON - After a search that spanned nearly five months, the town of Hopkinton finally has it’s new police chief.

David S. Palmer, a current Lieutenant and 25 year veteran of the Rhode Island State Police (RISP), will be appointed to the post in early January, according to Town Manager, and Acting Police Chief, William McGarry.
