NARRAGANSETT — The Coventry girls’ soccer team is eternally grateful that soccer matches at the high-school level last 80 minutes, not 40.

It was a tale of two halves on Wednesday at The Prout School for the Oakers, where the first 40 minutes of play saw Prout – a past foe within the Division II ranks – take complete control of the match in terms of possession and physicality against the prominently-physical Coventry XI.

Shaffer-Kartesz excels as employment specialist

Shannon Shaffer-Kartesz, her role as an employment specialist has led to not just a fulfilling career, but also volunteer work as well.
Otherwise known as a job coach, referrals come to her company, RSVP [Rehabilitative Services and Vocational Placement] from the Department of Rehabilitative Services through the Virginia state government.
"The referrals are people with physical and/or mental challenges," Shaffer-Kartesz said. "Some of my clients have never done competitive employment.
