Van Hees looking to strike it big

February 2, 2012

Charlestown’s Jonathan Van Hees has spent the better part of the last 12 months dominating numerous bowling centers around New England, leaving plenty of his opponents – and bowling pins – in his wake.

Two weeks ago, Van Hees made the decision to head back out on the road to try and achieve that elusive goal of earning a national title on the Professional Bowlers Association (PBA) Tour.

KINGSTON - As far as rules of when it’s appropriate to rush the court, fans of the University of Rhode Island men’s basketball team didn’t follow any of them Wednesday night.
But the way the season has gone for the Rams, winning two games in a row for the first time this season was a reason to celebrate.

Rams need overtime to lose to St. Bonaventure

January 27, 2012

KINGSTON – There is still something left to play for.
The losses have piled up all season and have come in different fashions. There have been blowouts, there’s been tough overtime losses and games where the University of Rhode Island men’s basketball team just didn’t deserve to win.
Wednesday the Rams didn’t necessarily deserve a victory; they were outrebounded and gave up a 10-point first-half lead, and with a shot to win came up with no legit looks at the basket to end the game there.
