QDC lands investment

NORTH KINGSTOWN – Turn your head for a second and you’ll miss something big in Quonset.
More change is coming to the thriving Business Park with the recently announced $400,000 investment from the United States Commerce Development’s Economic Development Administration (EDA).
The investment to the Quonset Development Corporation (QDC) will be used to make roadway improvements. This project alone is expected to create 275 jobs and generate $50 million in private investment.

Exeter rolls to the rescue

EXETER – Exeter Rescue Corps, located on Ted Rod Road next to the town hall, has a brand new emergency truck parked out front, sparkling like Elizabeth Taylor’s jewels.
It was selected by a committee of the squad’s employees who researched the possibilities, put together specifications and reviewed what was in the marketplace. They came up with an outstanding vehicle costing $150,000 – a terrific bargain considering that many trucks with all the bells and whistles go for as much as $250,000.
