Two of the bridges carried traffic from Route 1 over Route 108 at the Narragansett exit. One takes vehicles northbound and the other takes vehicles southbound. They had been shut down since the fall of 2009. The state Department of Transportation had opened the northbound bridge in the summer, but the southbound remained closed for repairs until Sunday night, Nov. 21.
